By taxi
There are two taxi options when you get to Edinburgh Airport:
- You can pre-book Edinburgh Airport's official private hire service using our online taxi booking form, or by calling 0844 448 8576. The private hire rank is located on the ground floor of the multi-storey car park.
- You can pick up a black cab at the rank on the ground floor of the multi-storey car park.
By bus
The Airlink bus service provides a fast and frequent service into the City Centre. The service operates 24 hours a day, 7 days a week with buses every 10 minutes during the day. Journey time to City Centre is approximately 30 minutes. Other stops include Murrayfield Stadium and Edinburgh Zoo.

By tram
Edinburgh Trams run services from every 7 minutes to the City Centre with a journey time of just 30 minutes. Services to the City Centre operate between 06:18 – 22:48 hours. In addition to the City Centre, trams service the financial district, Murrayfield Stadium and railways stations at Edinburgh Gateway, Edinburgh Park, Haymarket and St Andrew Square (for Waverley).

By car
The airport is about eight miles (12km) west of the city centre and the journey (via the A8 Glasgow Road) takes about 25 minutes in light traffic. A number of car hire companies operate from the airport.
Train
Both of Edinburgh's main rail stations, Waverley and Haymarket, are located in the heart of Edinburgh's city centre. The rail network connects to cities all over Scotland and the UK. Rail connections are also available from Edinburgh Gateway and Edinburgh Park stations, both of which are served by the tram. Find out more about train services from the Airport.
Long-distance coaches
In addition to the Citylink Air service to Glasgow both Citylink and National Express operate services from Edinburgh's main bus station in Elder Street to destinations across Scotland and the UK.
