Last updated Apr 11, 2022

A familiar name will be back on the tarmac at Edinburgh Airport from summer 2022 with additional domestic flights on the radar.

It’s been a while but Flybe is making its return to EDI and a host of new journeys have been announced, with regular flights from the Scottish capital to both Belfast and Birmingham.

The Belfast route will operate up to three times daily from June 23, while Birmingham flights will run up to four times a day from July 28.

'Non-stop' Edinburgh to Toronto services: More flights to Canada and beyond on the way

Those at the airline say the ‘new and improved’ Flybe will resume operations in April 2022 with more than 500 flights per week across 23 routes – and more to be announced in the future.

Announcing the return CEO Dave Pflieger put an emphasis on ‘low fares’ and making journeys ‘easy and enjoyable’ for passengers.

He said: “We think our new flights will benefit everyone who wants low fares and more flights to go on holiday and visit loved ones. Our new network will also ensure better regional connectivity inside the UK and between various UK and EU regions.”

The new Flybe team has worked tirelessly over the past year to create an airline that delivers on price, schedule, and choice, and we look forward to having you book a ticket on flybe.com and start flying again next month, this summer, and in the many years ahead!”
