So with warm weather holidays now at the front of many minds, here’s a look at 14 sunshine islands you can fly to direct from Edinburgh in the summer of 2022.

Santorini

You won’t find many places easier on the eye than Santorini.

Found 120-miles from mainland Greece, this volcanic island is packed with awesome scenery, from beautiful beaches to spectacular clifftop villages.

And good luck finding a better sunset anywhere on the planet.

Corfu

Regarded by many as the ultimate idyllic island getaway. Corfu is famous for its stunning mountains and lush turquoise waters. A great place to switch off and recharge the batteries.

Fuerteventura

150km of white sand beaches? Check. A spectacular volcanic landscape? Check.

This Canary Island is a great place to relax while also being popular among those who love their outdoor sports and water activities.

Gran Canaria

Sticking with the Canary Islands and Gran Canaria is a place loaded with charm – particularly the capital Las Palmas.

Rhodes

All roads lead to Rhodes. An island packed with landmarks which help chart its fascinating history.

Take the steep footpath to the Acropolis of Lindos for an unforgettable experience, and a visit to the magnificent Palace of the Grandmaster will have you feeling like you’ve been transported back to ancient Greece.

Tenerife
