Doing lifts? Check out our free drop-off and pick-up zone just a short walk from the terminal
Many of us have been there. Up bright and early for the 5am airport run on behalf of someone else's holiday.
Yes they might be our friends or family but it's difficult to hide the jealousy as they hop out the car and waltz into the airport ready for an adventure, while we prepare to drive back up the road in hope of catching an extra hour in bed.
If you have been roped into early morning lifts we've, of course, got our drop-off and pick-up zone at the bottom of the multi-storey, where there's a charge to use them.
However there is an alternative if you're looking for a free option, and your passengers don't mind stretching their legs a little.
We want to offer as much choice as possible so people are able to use whichever area suits them best.
Where to find the free drop-off/pick-up zone
The free option can be found at our long stay car park (Opens in a new tab) and you can park here for a full 30 minutes with no charge.
Although there's no shuttle bus between the long stay (Opens in a new tab) and the terminal, a new walking route has been established at the north end of the car park. We'd suggest your passengers allow for around 10 minutes to get themselves from the car to our check-in desks.
Wondering how to get to the long stay? Our map below should help if you're driving in from Glasgow Road and Eastfield Road.

How to use this free option
The car park is barrier operated, and you'll need to take a ticket before it lifts up and allows you in.
There's no fee for the first 30 minutes and that should give you plenty of time to pick up or drop off, but please note if you do go over that time then there will be a charge on your departure.
Looking to drop off right outside the terminal?
We also operate a charged drop-off next to the terminal, on the ground floor of the multi-storey car park. For more information on this visit our drop-off/pick-up website page (Opens in a new tab).
Blue badge holders
Vehicles carrying passengers with blue badges have free access to our car parks for one hour.
Drivers should use the Blue Badge scanner in the ground floor of the multi-storey car park, or take their ticket to the customer services office - also in the multi-storey car park - for validation.
