We know a lot of people are asking if they can get tested at the airport so this page will clarify that situation.
Some airlines are requesting passengers have proof of a negative Covid-19 PCR test ahead of travel and we encourage passengers to check their airline's guidance and requirements ahead of travel.
We have introduced a Covid-19 drive-through screening service centre in front of the terminal to provide a fast and accurate PCR swab test with results emailed or texted to customers the next day.
The pricing structure is:
£60 for staff
£80 for passengers
£99 for the general public
A group discount is also offered, with up to 30% off for groups of four or more, however participants need to ensure they are adhering to government guidelines when they arrive for their screening.
Airline passengers are advised to schedule a test 48-96 hours prior to their departure time, as a precaution.
Those who screen negative will be emailed a Fit to Fly certificate that is authorised by a doctor, along with their test result, however passengers are encouraged to check with their travel provider as to whether this document is accepted before booking the screening service.
Please note - although the ExpressTest is now available, people in Scotland must continue to follow local restriction guidance, including travel restrictions, as laid out by the Scottish Government. The ExpressTest will be an important aspect of the airport’s recovery for when restrictions are lifted.
If you require further information on these restrictions then please visit the Scottish Government website.
The airport cannot and will not make decisions on what is deemed essential travel for passengers.
NHS testing facility
This is situated on the airport campus on our old 12/30 runway.
It is managed by the Scottish Government and tests are only for those people showing Covid-19 symptoms or designated as a key worker.
There is more information, including on how to book a test, on the Scottish Government website.
