Working with ExpressTest UK, Edinburgh Airport is able to offer both lateral flow and PCR tests. This section will explain what tests are available here.

Walk-up testing centre

Opening hours: 0800-2000.

Customers can receive both lateral flow tests and PCR tests at the walk-up centre. These ​must be booked in advance.

Customers are asked to leave sufficient time prior to their flight as they may have to queue in busy periods.

Lateral flow tests are available for £50 per person. Customers who require lateral flow tests should book prior to arrival and are asked to leave sufficient time prior to their flight as they may have to queue in busy periods. Results take approximately 20 minutes and will be sent via email.

Customers who require a PCR test should book prior to arrival.

Book an ExpressTest walk-up appointment

ExpressTest aim to deliver PCR test results by 10pm the day after the test; however, results could take up to 48 hours to receive.

The screening site is located in the FastPark car park (next to the multi-storey). Customers that have booked a walk-up or drive-through test should proceed to the FastPark car park and a member of ExpressTest staff will direct customers on where they should go.

Customers are reminded to maintain social distancing and wear face coverings whilst visiting the site.

Drive-through testing centre

Opening hours: 0800-2000

Only PCR tests are available at the drive-through centre.

Customers who require a PCR test should book prior to arrival.

Book an ExpressTest drive-through appointment

ExpressTest aim to deliver PCR test results by 10pm the day after the test; however, results could take up to 48 hours to receive.

Those who screen negative will be emailed a Fit to Fly certificate that is authorised by a doctor, along with their test result, however passengers are encouraged to check with their travel provider as to whether this document is accepted before booking the screening service.

Please note - although the ExpressTest is now available, people in Scotland must continue to follow local restriction guidance, including travel restrictions, as laid out by the Scottish Government. The ExpressTest will be an important aspect of the airport’s recovery for when restrictions are lifted.

The airport cannot and will not make decisions on what is deemed essential travel for passengers.

NHS testing facility

This is situated on the airport campus on our old 12/30 runway.

It is managed by the Scottish Government and tests are only for those people showing Covid-19 symptoms or designated as a key worker.
