Hop on the tram

Trams are one of the easiest ways to get to and from the airport with fast and frequent services to Edinburgh city centre. Trams depart every 7 minutes, between 7am and 7pm, and every 15 minutes outwith these hours, with an end-to-end journey of just 30 minutes.

Our airport tram stop is right outside the main terminal next to the plaza and Edinburgh sign.

Services run between the airport and York Place in Edinburgh city centre.

  • Airport return tickets are completely open-ended, so whether you need to use it next week or next year – it’s valid!

  • Remember to buy tickets before boarding the trams. You can get them from vending machines at any tram stop – including at the airport.

Connections with rail stations & bus services

Easily connect with trains at the Edinburgh Gateway, Edinburgh Park Station and Haymarket stops. Edinburgh’s main railway station, Waverley, and Edinburgh Bus Station are also just a short walk from the St Andrew Square stop.
