Passengers flying from Edinburgh with Ryanair, easyJet, Jet2 or British Airways can drop off their bags the night before their flight through a Twilight Bag Drop service.
The free service offers airline passengers on early morning flights the ability to come to the airport the night before to check in luggage, meaning they can head straight to security on the day of travel.
Twilight Bag Drop will be available to customers on morning flights, although for those flying with Ryanair the departure time has to be before 08:00.
The time at which you're able to come in and drop off bags varies from airline to airline.
|Airline||Days offered||Hours of operation||Departure time|
|Ryanair||Monday - Sunday||17:00 - 21:00||Before 08:00|
|British Airways||Monday - Friday||16:00 - 19:00||Before 12:00|
|easyJet||Monday - Sunday||16:00 - 21:00||Before 12:00|
|Jet2.com||Monday - Sunday||16:30 - 21:00||Before 12:00|
To use Twilight Bag Drop you must have completed check in and have a boarding pass.
The lead booker must be present when bags are being dropped off, and while they can drop off up to six bags on behalf of others they are travelling with, it's important to note they'll need to bring everyone's passports and boarding passes with them.
If you need any further information on the Twilight Bag Drop service you should contact your airline directly.
It's important to note that if you're checking-in luggage on the day of your flight you should ensure you arrive at the airport for your check-in desk opening.
Check out your check-in desk opening times
Different airlines open their check-in desks at different times, so it's always best to double check this before the day of your flight.
While Air Canada and Delta open their desks up to four hours before flight times, easyjet and Ryanair do so at least two hours before departure.
Desks and times can vary, and are subject to change by the airline, but you can check out our guide here.
