As the oldest city in Cyprus, Larnaca is packed with history and culture. If this is what you are looking for make sure you visit the old Turkish quarter of Skala, full of whitewashed cottages filled with Cypriot arts and crafts workshops, the gorgeous Byzantine church of Agios Lazaros and Larnaka’s little fort.
As well as its rich history Larnaca is famous for its coastal promenade filled with some of the best restaurants, tavernas and bars in Cyprus and where you can find every type of cuisine available.
During the day you can relax on more than 15 miles of long sandy beaches spreading around the Larnaca Bay. The Bay is location of one of the top diving wrecks in the world, the Zenobia, which sank in 1980 on her maiden voyage. Larnaca is also the gateway to the famous resorts of Ayia Napa and Protaras.
Last but not least, make sure to visit the second largest lake on the island, Salk Lake, which is an amazing natural side and home to around 12,000 pink flamingos. During the summer the water evaporates leaving a vast and stunning spread of salt crust.
