Halifax

Halifax

The seaside capital of Nova Scotia is the stuff dreams are made of. Perched on the edge of the Atlantic, Halifax is home to some of Canada's most striking beauty.

The coastline boasts white sand beaches, world-famous lighthouses and islands ready for exploring. Visitors come from all across the globe to see the iconic Peggy's Cove lighthouse. At more than 100 years old it's one of the most famous in North America - the sunset there is one you'll not forget in a hurry.

And when it comes to making memories, how about taking an adrenaline-fuelled rafting tour on the Scubenacadie River, or hopping over to McNab's Island for hiking trails and gorgeous beaches.

Looking for somewhere to take it all in? For the best views of harbour, and an insight into the city's military history, don't pass up a trip to the Halifax Citadel National Historic Site. One of the symbols of the city.

Remember to listen out for the 'noon gun' - a canon firing at midday each day. Sound familiar?
