Christmas choirs are coming to town! Local schools invited to sing at airport during Christmas

Last updated Nov 14, 2023

Ready for some Silent Night before your flight?

You can't quite hear those jingle bells yet but the festive season is on the way, and we're again offering school choirs the opportunity to come in and sing for passengers - providing the perfect holiday send off, or arrival, for those travelling through the airport.

Last year talented singers from seven schools came in to belt out a range of Christmas classics, from Frosty the Snowman to Winter Wonderland, while raising funds and putting the smiles on the faces of passengers and staff.

Schools from Edinburgh, the Lothians, Falkirk and Fife can apply to come in and sing while collecting donations for their school from passengers. This will be over the weeks December 4 to 8 and December 11 to 15. We may also have availability on the week starting December 18 depending on demand.

Groups of up to 15 children and two adults will be allocated a two-hour slot, from 1000 to 1200, with an indoor or outdoor location set aside (weather dependent) - and schools will be able to select which they would prefer.

Schools will be able to collect donations by placing a bucket at the front of their display, however they will not be allowed to approach passengers for donations.

Applications are now open and should be sent to the Community team by November 26. Successful schools will then be contacted after November 30.
