This remarkable city is often referred to as 'the Rome of France', and anyone who's lucky enough to have visited will know why.

Located in Southern France, Nimes is famed for its strong Roman influence. The hugely impressive Les Arenes amphitheatre is one of the best preserved structures of its kind in France. It has got a fascinating history dating back 2,000 years, and is still in use to this day hosting concerts and other events.

Across the entire city you'll find magnificent Roman buildings - the Maison Carree temple and the Tour Magne watchtower are two of the highlights, while the ancient Pont Du Gard aqueduct bridge is a real spectacle
