  • Introduction of new technology in check in
    • Use of group check in facility during the summer
    • Trial of common (multi user) bag drop with two of our partner airlines: EZY and Flybe
    • Trial of remote check in desks with Jet2, which allows greater interaction between staff and passenger
    • Worked with British Airways to provide '€˜Twilight'™ check in facility, allowing bags to be checked in the evening before for and early morning departure
  • Introduction of new technology in security
    • facial recognition software to help manage our security throughput and help us to accurately measure our operation
    • Automated boarding card check points (egates) to improve speed and efficiency of process
    • New body scanners introduced
  • New and improved website provided to help keep you informed at each stage of your journey
  • Introduced 2 hours free Wi Fi following customer demand from our passenger satisfaction surveys
  • New terminal project expansion announced and began with force

We will offer you choice

  • More than 40 airlines with over 100 destinations from Edinburgh
    • Virgin Atlantic introduced Little Red service to LHR in April 2013
    • Turkish airlines moved to daily service from June 2013
    • Air Canada rouge began route to Toronto in July 2013
    • Secured new long haul routes from Edinburgh including Qatar to Doha, US Airways to Philadelphia and United to Chicago which will start to operate throughout 2014
  • Introduced valet car parking
  • Secured a direct bus link from Edinburgh Airport direct to Glasgow city centre.
  • Relocated taxi providers to one location to improve accessibility and choice for passengers.
  • Liquorice Tree introduced over 15 new products lines into their store, all locally sourced, offering our passengers further Scottish bespoke gifting ranges.
  • WDF'€™s strong Malt Whisky relationships, ensured that our passengers enjoyed the highest quality tasting bars as the entered the IDL. 9 out of 12 launches were travel exclusive ranges.
  • Boots launched their new '€˜Meal Deal'€™ range continuing to offer our passengers quality food at low prices. Over 334 thousand meal deals were sold last year!
  • Over 4 million cups of coffee enjoyed by our customers last year, we are continuing to improve our coffee offer 2014, by bringing in new brands and upgrading all of our coffee shops.
  • Liquorice Tree Shortlisted in The Greats, for Independent Gift Retailer of the Year Scotland 2013.
  • Boots Shortlisted as '€˜Store of the Year'€™ 2013.
