Roadworks in Edinburgh city centre
Work to prepare the ground for Edinburgh trams has started at Shandwick Place in the west end of Edinburgh. This will continue to the end of April 2008.

All traffic will be diverted from Shandwick Place, including the Airlink 100 bus service to and from the airport. Passengers travelling to the airport are advised to leave extra time for their journey. For further information visit lothianbuses.com.

Changes to terminal forecourt
Edinburgh Airport is making important changes to its terminal forecourt to improve access and reduce congestion.  In order to complete this work, access is now restricted to some areas of the forecourt and private vehicles are now being directed to two new zones. Please check the information below and follow the clear signs when you approach the airport to ensure you go to the right area.

For passengers being picked up and dropped off

• All passengers being picked up should follow signs to the new airport pick up zone, located on the ground floor of the multi storey car park.
  
• Vehicles wishing to pick up airport passengers should follow the signs to the pick up zone.  Vehicles wishing to drop off passengers should follow the signs to the new set down zone.
  
• Signs on the airport approach road will clearly show the appropriate lanes for pick up and set down.  Please ensure you get in the right lane early and do not enter the green lane, which is for public transport and other authorised vehicles only.

For passengers arriving and leaving the airport by public transport.

• At present, all bus and coach services are operating from the airport coach park, which can be found to your left as you exit the terminal building.
  
• Once the new forecourt is complete, passengers will be able to access the bus services operated by Lothian Buses and  Stagecoach via new bus stands immediately in front of the terminal building.  Buses for the long stay car park will also depart from this rea. Other bus and coach services will continue to run from the airport coach park.
  
• Edinburgh Airport is also served by two main taxi ranks - one for a fleet of private vehicle taxis and one for city 'black cab' taxis.  Both ranks are located towards the eastern end of the terminal building.  Pre booked taxis can be accessed via a dedicated rank located next to the ground floor of the multi storey car park.
