Edinburgh Airport today, 7 November, announces the launch of a festive fundraiser inviting applications from local schools across Edinburgh, the Lothians and Fife to sing Christmas carols and collect charity donations from passengers.
For the first two weeks in December, sixteen schools will have the chance to raise money to go towards a school project of their choice, whilst showing off their singing skills and spreading some Christmas cheer.
School choirs of up to 15 children and two adults will have two hours between 12pm and 2pm to shake their collection buckets and sing Christmas carols in Edinburgh Airport’s main terminal. As an extra incentive to sing like angels, Edinburgh Airport will also match the largest total amount of money collected by one of the schools.
Gordon Robertson, Head of Communications at Edinburgh Airport said: "Choirs always add some great Christmas spirit to the airport and we thought it would be a good idea to offer the opportunity to local schools to help raise much needed funds to go towards a project of their choice.
"We are keen for every school that participates to have a great time and hope our passengers enjoy the festive experience and give generously. The money raised will help to fund some excellent educational initiatives."
Edinburgh Airport is now accepting applications and completed forms must be received by the airport team by midnight Sunday 18 November.
