Scotland's busiest airport has passed another milestone in its growth – its first million passenger month.
July 30 saw the millionth passengers pass through the airport in what promises to be Edinburgh Airport's busiest month ever.
The millionth passengers were the Russell family from Fetterangus near Aberdeen who were flying from the Capital to Paris to visit Disney Paris.
Commenting on the achievement, Gordon Dewar, Chief Executive of Edinburgh Airport, said: "A million plus passengers in one month is a fantastic achievement. The team at Edinburgh Airport, including our airline, handling agents and retail partners has worked incredibly hard to process an average of 32,000 passengers a day.
"To put this in context, that's roughly the population of a town like Stirling, every day. Now we've hit this milestone, we want to make sure this is not a one off and we continue to grow and offer our passengers choice, excellent service and efficiency.
"We're still counting passengers and will announce the total figure for July later in August."
The Russell family won free flights courtesy of easyJet to new destinations from its Edinburgh base. Edinburgh Airport will provide the lucky winners with hotels, free parking and lounge access.
