Edinburgh Airport has appointed Linda Urquhart OBE as the newest member of its board.
Bringing a wealth of business expertise to Edinburgh Airport, Linda has been Chairman of Edinburgh-based law firm Morton Fraser since January 2011. Prior to her appointment she was Chief Executive for 11 years.
Linda is also currently Chairman of Investors in People Scotland, a board member of the CBI and Scottish Enterprise, a non-executive director of Scottish private bank Adam & Co and a member of the UK Commission for Education and Skills IIP Advisory Board and Edinburgh Business Forum.
Also active in the charitable sector, she is a member of the Prince’s Trust Scotland Development Board and an Ambassador for Girlguiding UK. She was awarded an OBE for services to business in January 2012.
Welcoming her appointment, Sir John Elvidge, Chairman of the board at Edinburgh Airport, said: "We are delighted to have Linda join the board of Scotland’s busiest airport. We firmly believe that an individual of her calibre will fit in extremely well and will be able to use her skills and experience to help guide the work of Edinburgh Airport.
"With such an illustrious career, working across a number of sectors, I am confident Linda will be able to provide us with the expert advice required to maintain and enhance the high standard of customer service we have and will continue to deliver".
Commenting on her appointment, Linda Urquhart said "I am very pleased to be joining the board of Edinburgh Airport and am looking forward to contributing to the future success of such a diverse and vibrant organisation, which plays such a vital part in Scotland's economy.
"I also have fond memories of an earlier job at Edinburgh Airport - a student summer job waitressing in the airport restaurant. The airport has changed hugely since then, but it's good to be back, albeit in a rather different role!"
