- 8% rise sees over 104,000 passengers use Edinburgh Airport on Christmas weekend
This Christmas weekend will see over 104,000 passengers pass through Edinburgh Airport – a rise of 8% on last year.
The airport’s operations teams have prepared to handle this busy period, both in terms of the volume of passengers passing through check in and security and the airport’s readiness to handle bad weather.
Edinburgh Airport Chief Executive, Gordon Dewar, said:
“Christmas is always a busy time of year for airports and Edinburgh is no different. Being Scotland’s largest brings its own challenges and we’re totally focused on making sure the 100,000 passengers travelling with us this weekend have a great experience to kick start their festive period.”
