Scotland's busiest airport has given its mobile app a significant upgrade with a range of new features to make it even easier for passengers travelling through the terminal.
Edinburgh Airport's enhanced app has a sleek new look to make it more user-friendly, including a social media option which enables travellers to build points towards a future loyalty scheme every time they use the digital tool to 'check-in'. Frequent flyers will be rewarded with bonuses such as fast track passes and food vouchers.
Additional major updates of the free-to-download app include:
- A new 'travel tips' section which allows passengers to share and submit top information on Edinburgh Airport
- A new 'restaurants' feature that gives diners access to special offers
- Enhanced notification system to alert users of any changes to their flights
- Improved car parking pre-booking section
In addition, the Edinburgh Airport Twitter feed has been incorporated into the app, available at the touch of a finger to keep travellers posted on up-to-the-minute news direct from the airport.
Gordon Robertson, Head of Communications at Edinburgh Airport, said:
"Now that all of our decision making is done here in Edinburgh we're able to give an even greater focus to customer service. We've been listening to our passengers' feedback and as a result, built more information into our mobile app with the aim to enhance the experience here at Edinburgh Airport for all of our travellers."
The app also provides details whereby passengers can text feedback to Edinburgh Airport on 808000 by starting the message with the word 'EDIFEEDBACK'.
Travellers can get the Edinburgh Airport App free from the Android Market and iTunes App Store. The digital tool is also available on the Boingo Wireless internet portal at the terminal, and can be downloaded and used there without paying for internet access.
The app is available for both Android and iPhone now and is free to download.
