A strong performance of Amsterdam hub Schiphol has seen international passenger numbers at Edinburgh Airport grow in September.
880,124 passengers travelled through Edinburgh Airport in September, a drop of 2.2% on the previous year.
Although international traffic grew year on year, domestic traffic continues to suffer from uncertainty in the domestic market.
Edinburgh Airport Chief Executive, Gordon Dewar, said: "International traffic continues to grow from Edinburgh, perhaps unsurprisingly as we have the most international routes in Scotland.
"KLM is performing very strongly which may indicate that an increasing number of travellers are choosing hubs other than Heathrow when travelling internationally.
"Domestic passenger numbers continue to be down versus 2011, but we’re confident the forthcoming slot auction will give this market the stimulus it requires."
Edinburgh Airport’s traffic in September was as follows:
| ||2012 ||2011 ||Change |
|Domestic ||396,079 ||420,154 ||-5.7% |
|International ||484,045 ||479,667 ||0.9% |
