Edinburgh Airport is in the running for three top flight food and drink accolades in the Food and Beverage (FAB) Awards, which has unveiled its 2012 shortlist.
The gateway’s eateries are up for the ‘World’s Best Airport Food and Beverage’ award, competing against eight other airports around the globe including: Spain’s Barcelona Airport, Incheon International Airport in South Korea and Singapore Changi Airport.
Edinburgh Airport is also nominated in the ‘Best Airport Food to Go’ category for EAT, a family run retailer with an ethos of high quality food, service and shop standards and offering freshly prepared sandwiches, soups, pies, salads, sushi, wraps, desserts, breakfast and coffees.
Delaware North Companies, which runs the Thermidor Champagne and Seafood Bar, The Fringe Bar and Eating Place and The Gathering Restaurant and Deli food to go outlets at Edinburgh Airport, is shortlisted for ‘Best Airport Food and Beverage Reflecting Sense of Place’, completing the trio of nominations.
Edinburgh Airport Managing Director, Jim O’Sullivan, said: “Whether its seafood and a glass of wine, a hearty breakfast or a fresh and healthy bite to eat, there’s a really wide choice for passengers when it comes to eating and drinking at Edinburgh Airport now. That’s something we’ve been working hard with our retail partners to develop over recent years so we’re proud that these efforts have been recognised.”
