Traffic figures released today show that Edinburgh had a record number of passengers in July 2011, making it Edinburgh Airport's busiest July ever.
993,000 passengers passed through Edinburgh, up 3.3% on July 2010 and just 7,000 short of reaching the million passenger month.
Looking at Edinburgh’s 2011 performance so far passenger numbers are continuing to grow and have reached just over 5.4 million, a rise of 12% on same period last year.
Overall BAA’s six airports handled 11 million passengers in July, an increase of 0.8% on July 2010. Across the Group, the strongest performing market was North America, with passenger numbers up 5.6% on last July. Other long-haul routes recorded a collective increase of 3.9% and European scheduled services rose by 0.9%. In contrast, there was a 7.2% drop in domestic traffic.
